DSO Kenya provides a seamless, fully-funded pathway for patients who need advanced medical expertise. Every service below is provided completely free of charge to patients through our Life-Saving Programme, made possible by our sponsors, donors, and grants. Our support is divided into three phases: Digital Expert Access, Supported Medical Travel, and Home Follow-Up Care.
FREE VIDEO CONSULTATIONS
Through DSO Kenya’s programme, we arrange and fully cover the cost of secure, high-definition video consultations between Kenyan patients and top specialist doctors in India. Patients do not pay anything.
- Specialized Review: Focused expertise in Oncology, Neurology, Spine Surgery, and many other specialties.
- Collaborative Calls: A patient’s relative, friend, Nurse, Clinical Officer, or Medical Interpreter may join the session to ensure the patient fully understands and is supported.
- Digital Recommendations: Post-consultation reports and specialist prescriptions are delivered automatically via WhatsApp and Email.
Medical Travel Support — Coordinated and Funded for Eligible Patients
When a specialist recommends treatment in India, DSO Kenya works with AeroMedicare (a branch of AeroTech) to coordinate and support the patient’s travel. We advocate with our donors and programme partners to cover or subsidize costs for eligible patients.
- Air Travel & Ambulances: Managed by AeroTech, specialists in global air travel logistics. Emergency Air Ambulance services are available for critical cases.
- VIP Patient Reception: Upon arrival in India, the AeroMedicare team receives the patient and manages all local transport and orientation.
- Treatment Coordination: Full guidance from hospital admission and treatment through recovery, including specialized accommodation.
- Dedicated Support: A dedicated team ensures the patient is never alone, with all medical appointments prioritized.
Safe, Legal, and Secure Health Record Management
Sharing medical records across borders can be complex. DSO Kenya handles all of this on behalf of the patient.
- Legal Compliance: All records shared between Kenya and India follow the Data Protection Act of Kenya and Indian Health Record guidelines.
- Secure Transfer: Records are reviewed by specialists prior to the consultation to ensure every session is productive and focused.
Follow-Up Care After Returning Hom
Our support does not end when the patient returns to Kenya. DSO Kenya continues to walk alongside patients through their recovery, coordinating follow-up consultations and local care as needed. We believe the journey home is just as important as the journey to treatment.
